Software that runs our website:

templates for our website and underlying core code (code that interacts with sage or the database, for example) should always be licensed under GPL2 or higher.

Data:

Does data need a license? Perhaps. For example see http://wiki.okfn.org/OpenDataLicensing

Software that people contribute:

Allow them to license as they wish within our constraints- must be open source (group decision).

Provenance:

data uploading:

Mike R. thinks it is better to focus on the immediate goals of our project- to get our data into our database and serve it up with our homepages. We should individually upload our favourite data into our database the way that Robert Bradshaw showed us using a script that interacts with data files and our mongodb.

If our project succeeds, we can, in the future, think about more general tools and processes for sharing and approving.
